The INCOVA Systems Engineer position provides the opportunity to be an integral part of a dynamic team focused on bringing revolutionary change to the hydraulic systems used to control large construction equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders and mobile cranes. The Systems Engineer will lead development programs with major international OEMs and must demonstrate the ability to manage every aspect of the system development – hydraulics, electronics and software controls. The Systems Engineer is responsible for creating system requirements, designing and integrating components into a system solution, managing project logistics, and communicating with the customer.
A successful Systems Engineer is a strong problem solver, a quick thinker and a highly effective communicator. Able to intuitively synthesize and apply first principle physics to multi-discipline technical problems, this engineer is focused on delivering a complete hardware and controls solution that meets the efficiency, controllability and cost requirements of the customer.
POSITION OBJECTIVES
Scale Steep Learning Curve to Synthesize Multiple Engineering Disciplines
During the first 6-12 months, the Systems Engineer will rotate through three internal teams – the Software Development group, the EHPV (Electro-Hydraulic Poppet Valve) group, and the INCOVA Systems group. The engineer must demonstrate a full understanding of each discipline and possess the ability to synthesize them in the context of an INCOVA system.
Lead an Excavator, Wheel Loader or Crane INCOVA System Development Program
Work with international OEM customers on the development of complete controls systems, incorporating EHPV technology & INCOVA software controls with a thorough understanding of the application and customer requirements:
"Hands On" Troubleshooting Throughout Development Process
Use complete system understanding to identify and resolve machine performance problems. Lead project team through theoretical analysis, lab testing, machine testing, and product revisions required to exceed project cost & performance objectives.
Develop and Lead Cross-Functional Internal Project Team
Direct less experienced engineers and technicians in research, data gathering and analysis. Create work assignments, check output, and provide instruction and training in the application of sound engineering practices. Review results and prepare recommendations. Must be a strong team player, able to work with several different internal and external customers.
"Be the Expert"
Conduct and direct technical benchmarking of competitive products and technical capability. Develop technical expertise in the application and design of current and new HUSCO products. Conduct training and consultation related to advancement in technology and applications. Review documentation and product literature for accuracy and completeness.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related discipline. 2 - 5 years experience including demonstrated performance delivering creative application, design and development. Exceptional candidates with less tenure may be considered. Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics and software as related to HUSCO products is strongly preferred. Travel up to 20%. International travel required.
